If a tank here has gone five or more years between visits, the wet season has probably been doing it no favors — a high water table slows everything down and compacted sludge sets hard in the bottom of the tank. A full clean is the right call before an inspection, before a sale, or before anyone quotes you for drain field work, because a contractor cannot assess baffles or tank walls through six inches of settled solids. It is also worth doing before a nitrogen-reducing upgrade: what is going into the new system matters to how it performs.
