Why we lead with the lagoon rule. About 28,000 properties on septic in this county sit inside the Indian River Lagoon Protection Program area, and fewer than 1,000 of them are in a sewer service area. What we don't do. We don't sell tank additives or "septic treatments" off the truck. We don't recommend a replacement before somebody has diagnosed the problem. We don't quote an upgrade for a property until we have checked whether a sewer project is planned for that street — that check is a phone call and it can change the job entirely. And we don't put a grant in an estimate, because there isn't one in this county today.
